We have now opened registration for the 2022 – 2023 wrestling season. 

The cost of season will be $150 for one wrestler (does not include the USAW fee).  For families with more than one wrestler, the additional cost will be $50 per wrestler (does not include the USAW fee).  For more than 3 wrestlers in a family, please email me for details. All wrestlers will receive a shirt/short combination.

Steps to register:

1. Set-up or login to USA Wrestling (link on our site). You will need to have registered your wrestler(s) at USAW prior to starting registration. Please copy your wrestler’s USAW ID – it will be required to register. Additionally, make certain you associate your wrestler(s) with the Maine Eagles WC within the USAW portal. A USA wrestling card ($55) is mandatory. Wrestlers will not be allowed to practice without one.  Please note - that once a card has been purchased through USAW, the fee is not refundable from Maine Eagles WC. 
2. Parents will need to set-up or log into the Sports Engine account to begin the registration process. There will be convenience fees charged for using a credit card
3. There is an option to pay by check at the end of registration. If you choose this option, fees are due the first week of the season
4. If your wrestler is new to wrestling, a birth certificate is required. Please email (maineeagleswc@gmail.com) or hand deliver the birth certificate during the first week of practice

Fees should never be a roadblock to wrestling.  If there is any kind of assistance necessary, please let us know.

New for this year:

• The club will not purchase new competition singlets going forward. There are a couple of reasons we decided to go this route.I am happy to discuss the details privately. The club will subsidize your purchase of new singlets (normal cost $90). This option is mostly for those that plan to compete regularly (see below for details) in our tournaments. We will have singlets available if you decide not to purchase a singlet
• We have partnered with Rudis for new singlets and extra gear – there is no requirement to purchase anything from the store

Details on the season:

• All practices will be held at Maine South HS. There are two wrestling rooms at Maine South which allows us to hold practices concurrently. For more experienced/elite wrestlers, there will be separate practices this year
• Below is the tentative practice schedule:
  • Monday & Wednesdays: 7 and under / 6 P.M. to 7 P.M
  • Tuesday & Thursdays: 1-2 years of experience (over 7) / 6 P.M. to 7 P.M
  • Tuesday through Thursday: Elite/Experienced / 7 P.M.– 8:30 P.M.

Wrestlers are encouraged to attend 2-3 practices per week.  We may modify practice times and schedules should it be necessary.

• Tournament participation is not mandatory. Unfortunately, no tournaments are covered in this year’s tuition.If your wrestler(s) plans to attend tournaments, the tournament fee is typically $25 to $35 per tournament/wrestler
• The season is expected to start on 11/9 – the date might be adjusted depending on the Maine South HS practice schedule
• Registration will close on 11/9

Welcome to the home page of the Maine Eagles Wrestling Club. Established in 1987, the Maine Eagles Wrestling Club trains athletes (K – 8th grade) from Des Plaines, Park Ridge, and surrounding communities in Illinois. Our club is open to athletes of any level and ability from 5 to 14 years of age.
